I ::heart:: bargains
Jul. 21st, 2004 12:21 pmSo I've been hearing all these great things about the Pregnancy Survival Kit by Belly Basics (http://www.babystyle.com/content/bellybasics/kit.asp?siteid=belly if you're interested). Supposed to be so incredibly versatile, blah blah blah, except for the minor factor of price (about $150 for the four pieces, which is a bit steep).
So I went on eBay, and found a gal who was selling three of the four pieces new, with a buy it now price of $25. So, I jumped on it.
I got it in the mail today. And yes, it's new, or if it isn't the wear is so minor you can't tell. It's terrific -- all in a nice stretchy black jersey fabric -- a long-sleeve tunic, a comfy pair of slim-fitting pants (kind of like leggings, but looser), and a swingy knee-length dress. The one piece of the four that she didn't include was the short slim skirt, which I probably wouldn't have worn anyhow. Everything is a little big on me, which is good, since I'm sure I'll turn into a whale before too long.
I'm incredibly pleased. The only thing shopping-wise that I like better than a bargain is feeling like I got my money's worth, and I definitely did here. The pieces are tailored enough that I could probably wear them to a conference or a banquet, but not so dressy that I couldn't wear them out to the store if I mixed them with less-dressy items.
