Bob Herbert has a nice editoral in today's New York Times about voter disenfranchisement. There's a hotline you can call if you hear about people trying to suppress votes, or if you experience voting irregularities on election day -- it is:
1-866-OUR VOTE
It's toll-free, and the hotline will put you in touch with local volunteers who will help you to resolve the issue.
Write this number down in your daytimer, stick it on a post-it to your voter registration card, put it in your palm or program it into your phone. Post it on the fridge. Because something tells me that quite a few of us are going to need this number come November.
