Yet in summer's grip -- for caerwynx

I mentioned to caerwynx this morning that there is beauty in the world, if one knows where to find it. So I tried to capture a bit of it in my yard today. Photos are posted over here, at casa_hendirez.

And for those of you who were interested, zippyhendirez managed to catch a photo of the possum family yesterday.


The photo's a little blurry, but mama was in a hurry. :)

You're not kidding. I think about that poor possum with THREE kids hanging on her skirts back, and I realize how lucky I am to only have one little monkey clinging to me.

I'm in love with your possums! I have a Oaxacan carving of a mom possum with her babies hanging from her tail, and I just love seeing the real thing.

Oddly enough, we see MUCH more wildlife here in the city than we did in the 'burbs in SC. Weird, huh?

She was so pretty, and with such a pretty little family. *sigh*
